Terms of Service
Version: 2026-10-07
Docsary is operated by Robota LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). These terms govern docsary.com, its API and connectors, and its documentation-hosting service. Our Acceptable Use Policy is part of this agreement.
New customers must expressly accept the Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy through the acceptance checkbox on the Docsary sign-up page before we provision their organization and initial access. If you do not agree, do not request access or use the publishing service.
For existing customers, these terms take effect 30 days after we email them a notice linking to this version, or on a later date stated in that notice. Publishing this page does not start that notice period. Continued use after the effective date stated in your notice means you accept the terms, except where law requires further agreement. If you disagree, export your content and stop using the service before that date.
Our Privacy Policy explains personal-data handling. Acceptance of these terms does not give blanket consent to analytics or unrelated processing.
Who may use Docsary
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into this agreement. Personal and business use are welcome. If you use Docsary for a company or another organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind it to these terms; "you" then includes that organization.
What Docsary does
Docsary hosts documentation from Markdown and uploaded assets. You manage sites, pages, versions, and settings through the API or a connected agent. Published sites include navigation, search, and machine-readable content. See Pricing and access for current features and limits.
Your content is public
Every Docsary site is public. Private sites are not available on any plan yet. Treat uploaded pages and assets as available to anyone. API keys protect management access; they do not restrict who can read your published site.
Non-default versions, unlinked pages, staging addresses, and crawler directives do not make content private. Putting a login or proxy in front of your own domain does not block other paths to the site. See Private docs.
Pages are also available as Markdown and through the site's AI-readable listings. People, search engines, and agents can read and copy public content. Pages may be cached globally, and readers may keep offline copies. Do not upload passwords, API keys, confidential information, or anything else that must stay private. Removing content later cannot recall copies made by others.
Accounts and API keys
We currently provision organizations and initial API access by request. We record the terms version and verified acceptance associated with new customer access. Give us accurate contact information and keep it current so we can reach you about billing, security, and these terms.
You are responsible for securing your sign-in, API keys, and other access credentials, and for activity through your account. Give people and tools only the access they need. A read-only key is appropriate when writing is unnecessary.
API keys cannot be recovered. We store a hash, not the original key. Save a key securely when it is issued. If it is lost or exposed, revoke it and ask us for a replacement. You can revoke keys through the API key controls; revocation takes effect on the key's next request. Contact hello@robota.us if you need help stopping unauthorized access.
Your content stays yours
You keep ownership of your pages, files, and other content. You must own that content or have the rights needed to upload it, publish it, and grant the permission below. You are responsible for its accuracy and legality, including content prepared by an agent.
You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license only to host, serve, cache, index, and back up your content as needed to provide Docsary. We may use our hosting providers for those purposes. This gives us no ownership of your content and no permission to sell it, use it in advertising, or train AI models on it.
The license ends when your content is removed from our systems, except for copies that must be preserved by law and copies temporarily held in caches or backups pending removal. Permission to make backups is not a promise of a backup or recovery service. Keep your own source files and copies of uploaded assets.
The Docsary service, software, interface, and branding belong to us or our licensors. These terms give you a limited, non-exclusive right to use the service within your plan and these rules; they do not transfer ownership of our software or branding.
Connected AI agents
You authorize the agents and integrations you connect to act within the permissions you grant. Claude connector access currently requires an invitation to your organization, sign-in with the invited address, and your approval of the requested permissions. See Connect Claude.
Agent writes publish immediately. Docsary has no draft or approval stage. A connected agent can make live changes or delete pages if you give it those permissions. Cached responses can take time to refresh, and a multi-page import can leave successful changes live even if a later write fails. Review instructions and content before authorizing writes.
You are responsible for the access you grant and the changes made through it. The agent provider's own terms also apply to your use of that provider. Disconnect the connector to remove its connection, and contact us to remove a sign-in's link to your organization entirely. API keys are separate and must be revoked separately when needed.
Acceptable use
Follow our Acceptable Use Policy. Among other things, it prohibits illegal content, child sexual abuse material, sexually explicit, pornographic or obscene content, harassment, impersonation, phishing, malware, infringement, spam, and abuse of our systems or limits.
You are responsible for content and activity submitted by people or agents you authorize. We may remove content or suspend or close accounts under that policy.
Domains
You may use an allocated docsary.com address and, where your plan allows, attach a custom domain you control. You are responsible for your domain registration and DNS settings. See Domains.
An allocated docsary.com address remains under our control. Deleting a site releases its address for reuse; recreating the site does not guarantee the same address. Removing a site or domain attachment does not remove DNS records at your own provider.
Plans and limits
Free is a plan, not a trial, and has no trial expiry. Current features and limits are described in Pricing and access. Private sites are planned for Pro but are not available today.
Pro's published price is US $9 per month or US $90 per year, per organization. Self-service subscription checkout is not currently available. Contact hello@robota.us about access and any paid arrangement. A published price does not by itself create a subscription or authorize a charge.
Before a paid subscription starts, we will provide its price, billing interval, renewal and cancellation terms, and payment method for your agreement. An automatic renewal applies only if you expressly accept recurring billing. Any agreed change in price will be disclosed before it applies, with a chance to cancel before the next charge. Except where required by law or expressly agreed, paid periods are not refundable; contact us if a charge is wrong.
Prices are in US dollars. Texas sales tax on the taxable portion of a subscription is included in the agreed price and remitted by Robota LLC; nothing is added for Texas tax. We collect and remit taxes elsewhere where required by law. You remain responsible for taxes legally payable by you that we are not required to collect.
A plan downgrade does not itself delete or unpublish content. Existing custom domains continue serving, but a lower plan can prevent new resources or domain attachments. Keep within the limits shown for your plan. Any separate written paid agreement controls the billing commitments it expressly covers.
Visitor analytics on published sites
Visitor analytics are off by default. Docsary will not run visitor analytics on your site unless you turn them on. When enabled, the analytics script sends visitor activity data to PostHog for an analytics project operated by Robota LLC. Our Privacy Policy describes that data and how it is used.
You control whether analytics run on your site. Your organization can turn them on by setting posthog to true in that site's settings through the API, and turn them off by setting it to false. This is a site setting controlled by the publisher, not an individual visitor's consent.
If you enable analytics, you must disclose them to your visitors and obtain any consent your jurisdiction requires before analytics run for those visitors. If you cannot meet those requirements, leave analytics off or turn them off. This does not remove Robota's own obligations under privacy law.
Availability and service changes
We aim to keep Docsary reliable, but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service. Free and Pro have no service-level agreement or uptime guarantee under these terms. Any separate written agreement we sign with you controls the commitments it expressly covers.
We may add, change, or retire features and limits, and suspend operations for maintenance, security, or circumstances outside our control. We will give reasonable advance notice of material reductions to a paid plan. If we discontinue the service or a feature holding your content, we will give you a reasonable opportunity to export it unless urgent security or legal requirements prevent that.
Ending service and deleting data
You may stop using Docsary at any time. Export each version and save your assets before removing a site or organization. The export contains the source Markdown; keep your own copies of assets too. If you have a separately agreed paid subscription, follow its cancellation instructions; deleting a site is not cancellation.
Deleting a site removes access to its pages, versions, search entries, redirects, domain attachments, and assets, with storage and external-resource cleanup processed as needed. Its docsary.com address can become available for reuse. Deletion has no undo or customer recovery window. Contact hello@robota.us to request removal of your entire organization and associated sites, content, keys, and account records.
Cached responses may take time to expire. Deletion cannot recall copies held by readers, search engines, or third parties, and it does not itself erase separate identity, support, payment, or legal records. The Privacy Policy explains residual records and privacy requests.
We may suspend or terminate access for a breach of these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, a legal requirement, or discontinuation of the service. Serious abuse can require immediate action without notice. Otherwise, where practical and lawful, we will explain the reason and give a reasonable opportunity to export available content. You can ask us to review an enforcement decision by email.
Content ownership, accrued obligations, the limits on liability, indemnity, and governing-law provisions survive termination as needed to give them effect.
Warranties and liability
To the extent allowed by law, Docsary is provided as is and as available, without express or implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee availability, accuracy, security, or that content will never be lost. Keep your own copies and check what you publish.
To the extent allowed by law, Robota LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, business opportunities, or data arising from use of or inability to use Docsary.
To the extent allowed by law, our total liability to you arising from Docsary or these terms is limited to the greater of US$100 or the fees paid in the 12 months before the claim. Some laws do not allow certain exclusions or limits. Nothing here excludes liability or rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Responsibility for third-party claims
To the extent allowed by law, you agree to defend and indemnify Robota LLC against third-party claims arising from your content, your lack of rights to publish it, or your material breach of these terms, except to the extent caused by us. This means covering the resulting damages, settlements, and reasonable legal costs. We will promptly notify you of a claim, reasonably cooperate, and allow you to control its defense. You may not settle a claim in a way that admits fault by us or imposes an obligation on us without our written agreement.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms and the Acceptable Use Policy. We will post the revised pages and their effective dates. We will email existing customers at the contact address they supplied and give them at least 30 days' notice before revised terms take effect for them. New customers must expressly accept the terms before we provision their organization and initial access. Continued use after the applicable effective date means you accept the changes, except where law requires further agreement. If you do not agree, stop using the service and cancel any subscription before that date.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes arising from these terms or your use of Docsary belong in the state or federal courts sitting in Dallas County, Texas, and you and we agree to that venue, except where applicable law requires otherwise. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
