# Connect Claude or ChatGPT

Connect Claude or ChatGPT to read your sites and update pages or redirects with your permission. Review proposed edits before authorizing a write: Docsary has no drafts.

## 1. Ask us for an invitation

Email [hello@robota.us](mailto:hello@robota.us) with the name of your organization and the email address you will sign in with. We invite that address to your organization. The invitation lasts 30 days.

## 2. Add the connector in claude.ai

1. In claude.ai, open **Customize**, then **Connectors**.
2. Click **Add**, then **Add custom connector**.
3. Give it a name, such as Docsary, enter this URL, and click **Continue**:

   ```
   https://api.docsary.com/mcp
   ```

4. Claude detects how Docsary signs you in. Keep what it picks: **Sign in now** and **Use Claude's published identity**. Docsary needs no client ID or secret.
5. Click **Add**, then **Connect**. When a Docsary sign-in page opens, sign in with the address we invited, and confirm that address if you are asked to.
6. Review the permissions and approve them.

On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds the connector once under **Organization settings**, then **Connectors**, and each member connects to it from **Customize**, then **Connectors**.

## Or add it in ChatGPT

Use ChatGPT on the web. Availability depends on your account and workspace permissions; see [OpenAI's setup guide](https://developers.openai.com/api/docs/guides/custom-mcp-server).

1. Open **Plugins**, select **+**, then **Add custom MCP server**.
2. Name it Docsary, set the server URL to `https://api.docsary.com/mcp`, and choose **OAuth**. Docsary needs no client ID or secret.
3. Review and accept the risk warning, then select **Create as a plugin**.
4. Find Docsary in your personal or workspace plugins. Open it and select **+** to install it.
5. When prompted, sign in to Docsary with the address we invited and approve the permissions.
6. Start a new **Work** chat. Type `@` in the prompt box, select Docsary, and ask it to list your sites.

Your first connection accepts the invitation. After that, the connector is linked to your organization.

## What to know

- **Writes affect the live site.** There is no draft or approval stage. Multi-page changes can partly succeed, and cached responses can take time to refresh.
- **One organization per sign-in.** A sign-in belongs to one organization. If you need a different one, ask us.
- **Use exactly the invited address.** The address you sign in with must match the invitation exactly. Aliases and plus-addressing (like `you+docs@example.com`) do not count as a match.
- **To see which address you are signed in with, or to sign out**, open [docsary.com/account](/account). Sign out there before you sign in with a different address.
- **If you tried before you were invited**, wait a minute and try again.
- **If connection fails**, check that your address matches, is confirmed, and has an unexpired invitation. Email us if it still fails.
- **To remove access**, disconnect Docsary in claude.ai or in ChatGPT's app settings. To cut off a sign-in completely, ask us and we will remove its link to your organization. That takes effect on its next request.

Your API keys keep working as before. Connecting an assistant does not change them.
